An adventure away from Europe and the 21st century.

Albania is not the first country that springs to mind for a backpacking trip. In fact, from the Netherlands it is quite difficult to arrange everything locally. For Bergen Magazine I wrote a blog about how we experienced Albania. I can tell you it was really great, so incredibly beautiful and a hospitality we can all learn something from. If you want to read the entire blog, click on the button below. Enjoy reading it!

I really had a top vacation in the Balkans with Unplugged Outdoors. I've been floating around like a cloud in the mountains. The tours were absolutely beautiful, the locals very friendly, the group great and the views, sunrises and sunsets to howl so beautifully. That's what I do it for 🙂 Jimmy and Mentor are 2 sincere and authentic people and as guides competent and caring. Sincerity and authenticity that you also encounter in this region still uncontaminated by mass tourism. We had some hardships along the way. Since we were well taken care of it only colored my experience positively and further strengthened my immune system 😉 The fact that I was able to let go of everything during this trip (after all, all you have to do is walk and arrive in time for dinner) despite this being a strenuous vacation has actually given me a lot of relaxation (and a fit body:)). Happy and grateful 🙏

Wonderful trek made in Albania! Very nice trek along the most beautiful parts of the peaks of the Balkans, could not have imagined/arranged myself. Very well organized, and nice hiking rhythm with rest days on which you can do optional hikes. Especially sleeping in people's homes in small settings made the trip unforgettable!

Okay, it was an adventure. And adventures are only experienced when you dare to leave your certainties behind. The Peaks of the Balkans was challenging, quite tough (because of the heat, the terrain and carrying your own luggage). But the scenery made it most definitely worthwhile.
