As a guide and instructor, I climb mountains, search for traces of wildlife and immerse myself in the wilderness with some regularity in search of the essence of survival and personal growth. Weather or no weather, I can basically always be found outside. Whether I'm in the woods or in the mountains, I get a lot of energy from both. Exercise and getting away from your screen is something everyone should do more often. So my motto is to "unplug" and "play outside" in the great outdoors as often as possible. Hi, I'm Gerty, wilderness guide and an outdoor cooking boss, nice to meet you.
After years of working at large corporate's, I decided to take a different path and to match my passions.Years of experience in the corporate world has taught me about team dynamics, leadership and the importance of personal development. Now, as a wilderness guide, I want to combine these valuable lessons with my love of nature to inspire and help others discover that going back-to-basic is not so wrong at all.
During a Business Unplugged program, I am generally your outdoor cooking chef. I believe that the art of cooking (and a cooking and campfire), connects us to the earth and allows us to experience the most authentic flavors. Together we go beyond the usual cuisines, and discover how culinary magic can be part of our wilderness adventures.
Together with you, I would like to take on the ultimate challenge. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to surrender all devices and truly immerse yourself in the middle of nature? It's a leap of faith, but trust me, the reward is worth it, and I promise you this is an experience you'll want to live more often!
At Business Unplugged, we believe in customization, because no business is the same and everyone has their own unique wants and needs.
Sleep? We'll do it your way! If you really want to immerse yourself in nature, we have a place where you won't meet another soul. Here you will dive into the depths of a back-to-basic experience. No electricity, no wifi, no running water, just a toilet. This natural treasure is located in enchanting Strijbeek, North Brabant. Sleep in a tent, under a tarp or even under the twinkling stars. And honestly, sleeping under the stars is definitely a must.
But if back-to-basic sounds just a little too exciting for you, we have another trump card up our sleeves: an estate in beautiful Zeewolde. Here you have every comfort at your fingertips, such as plumbing and drinking water. Yet we are in our own secluded piece of paradise, far away from other busy fields. One night we sleep in a tent, and if you want, there are even other accommodations available.
