Blog burnout to unwind
Albania, just as far away from Europe and the 21st century

When you are young, you have a certain ideal image of what your life should be like or what is expected of you. Until unexpected and unforeseeable events occur. Then suddenly you are at that crossroads, which turn are we going to take? For us, this was a mental turning point and the seed was planted for our company Unplugged Outdoor.

Albania is not the first country that springs to mind for a backpacking trip. In fact, from the Netherlands it is quite difficult to arrange everything locally. For Bergen Magazine I wrote a blog about how we experienced Albania. I can tell you it was really great, so incredibly beautiful and a hospitality we can all learn something from. During our activities, fire making is one of the favorite topics for both young and old. But how do you actually make a good fire without a lighter or matches? Read all about how to make fire with flint & steel here!

Somewhat nervously, I take my phone out of my bag for the last time. I send some apps, mindlessly scroll through my Instagram timeline one more time and then put it on airplane mode. So, the first step has been taken. My phone will finally spend this weekend in the real Cell Phone Sleepingbag. What about me? I am staying these days in the woods of Gilze where I am about to play hardcore outdoors during a bushcraft weekend.

A weekend of rock hard outdoor play, when was the last time you did that? I sincerely had to think for a moment. And admittedly with camping you are just forced to be outside all day. A parent-child weekend with Unplugged Outdoor combines that outdoor play with outdoor activities while going offline. Wondering how this pleased me? Then read on quickly!

Shelter
Bushcraft

When I open my eyes I see branches. My body is stiff. I smell the forest. It could not be otherwise, because it is all around me. Only a thin mat and a thick sleeping bag separate me from the forest floor. Stretching is impossible in the cozy, slightly small shelter I built yesterday. I am still tired, but the birds are chirping and it is light outside; the second day of the bushcraft weekend with Unplugged Outdoors has arrived.

In April I went to play offline in the woods of Brabant for a weekend. I did this purely for my own pleasure, and not so much for my blog, but... it was so much fun, I'm going to tell you about it anyway! A bushcraft workshop with Unplugged Outdoor is one of the most fun adventurous workshops for outdoor people!
