A Tough on Step Family vacation for a cool outdoor experience in the mountains 

Do you also dream of an outdoor family vacation in the real mountains? Does unplugging and going back to basics in the middle of nature sound like music to your ears? Unplugging and adventure with the whole family?

This Tough on Step Family Week is especially for tough parents and very tough kids who want to go on an adventure together: discovering the wilderness and mastering super survival skills. You travel to Spain to the Picos de Europa National Park. A vast natural park with forests, mountains, rocks and climbing trails, lakes and waterfalls. Here you will experience your best outdoor vacation in a cool place where you will make new friends. From the base camp you will go on nature adventures together, trek the mountain trails with a guide and learn the coolest tips & tricks about the wilderness. Make fire, purify water, navigate, tie rope, stargaze, search for tracks, learn cloud facts and much more. You'll climb a peak, swim in a mountain lake and sleep in the wild (if you dare). Every night we will make a communal campfire (if possible), on which we will also cook delicious meals and then unwind and enjoy the stories and fellowship. A week full of adventure, back-to-basic living and learning cool stuff. Do you dare to take on the challenge?

Day 1
You are welcome from 4:00 pm. In a playful way we will get to know each other, eat a simple meal in the evening and make a nice campfire. We explain the program of this intensive week in outline. This is where we take a moment. Yes, we know you are eager, but safety and solid information about what awaits you really belongs here. 

Day 2 & 3
Day 2 & 3 are all about survival and bushcraft skills, so roll up your sleeves. One of them is making a good fire so we can cook outside and build a perfect campfire for when it gets dark at night. But of course, we will also take our first hike these days to explore the area. Monday night battle night: are the women the toughest or the men? We won't know this until the end of this week. 

Day 4
This is a rest day. This day you are free as a family and you can arrange the day as you wish. Go out with the family or with your new friends.

Day 5 & 6
Now the real work begins, so chop-chop to it! These days we'll be heading out again. We leave basecamp and go on a wilderness hike. In an adventurous way we sleep one night in the mountains. Tough! Everything you've learned in the past few days will come in handy. From navigating, tying knots to lumbering and making fire. 

Day 7
Today we go back to work fresh, because there is still more to learn to survive in nature. Today we will make a shelter with natural materials, take a hike to a special place where we will have lunch and the battle from the beginning of the week will continue. After dinner we will host the final campfire and reveal who were the toughest, the men or the women? Furthermore, this campfire session is dedicated to the last evening together. In old traditional fashion, we will shape this evening. While enjoying a drink, we look back on last week together. Because of course we are very curious how you experienced the week.

Day 8
Today the parents get to lie down for a while, as the children will help with a final communal breakfast... Wow, how fast the week has gone. What a wonderful experience. A week packed with adventure, working super hard, lots of laughter and ultimate enjoyment of and with each other.

Each day is arranged so that you have a morning or afternoon off. Nor do we eat together every day. There are a few times when this is possible and then you can join us or not. A night's bivouac in the forest is only for the toughest among us.

You will sleep under the stars at our basecamp, Camping El Cares, a unique camping experience that brings you closer to nature. Located amidst the majestic mountains, the campsite offers not only a peaceful night's sleep, but also a cozy atmosphere. 

Adventure is the key to this week in the enchanting landscape of Picos de Europa, but comfort has not been forgotten. This is all about your own camping experience, where you bring your own camping gear. So add a personal touch to this unforgettable Tough on the Move Week.

Travel fee is € 1599 per family (2 adults and 2 kiddos) excluding transportation to and from Spain. Should the family composition look different, the amount will be calculated proportionally.
